CGT #5: Applications of the Three Value Composition Tutorial

Art tutorials for the price of a cup of coffee!

This is Coffee Grind Tutorials' (CGT) fifth release. I focus on the idea of simplifying compositions into three brightness values, which will make finding the perfect shot for your characters and environments that much more digestible! I will demonstrate this art fundamental through two very different paintings: a character speed painting of Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII, and an original piece using a manga style which includes a background and multiple characters.

Full features:

-~1.5 hours of two process videos with full commentary!

-Raw videos of the painting process!

-Written summary for easy reviewing purposes!

-Photoshop files of the artwork used!

-Painting Exercise for you to try out!

-Low resolution versions available for those with bandwidth concerns!

Please do not hesitate to comment if you have any ideas on what I should release next. I will be focusing more on explaining specific art theories in future CGTs.

Thank you!
